Enchanting Afternoon Tea Bridal Shower
Thursday, August 06, 2015
My bridesmaids threw an afternoon tea bridal shower for me back in April. I may have hinted I wanted to have an afternoon tea get-together, with a garden feel hehe, and they blew me away. It was held at my sisters' beautiful home which she decorated it with a lot of pretty decor and tea sets.
I ordered a lot of baby's breath from Costo to test out floral arrangements for my wedding centerpieces. I used the leftovers to make myself a floral crown and decor for my own shower haha.
The shower had everything you need for an afternoon tea experience. There was a lot of delicous finger foods. We had homemade tea sandwiches, scones, mini cheesecakes, and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. There were macaroons, lemon bars, madeleines, o my! To complete the look, my sister provided an array of teapots and teacups. The small sweets paired so well with the warm teas. Cubed sugar, homemade clotted cream, jams, and pistachios added a nice touch.

Gorgeous, gorgeous pink ombre rosette cake made by my good friend and baker, Yuchen Z. I have never seen a more beautiful cake, she knows me so well.
One of our games was "Guess the Panty" The invitation asked all the guests to bring a pair of panties that represent themselves but in my size. I had to guess who gave which one. You can add drinking penalties for some more fun.
An activity I really wanted to include in my shower was having all the guests make their own flower crown. I think it's a great idea to get everyone involved and be creative. It's fun to make and we get to wear them for tons of pictures when we're done!
To go with the flower crowns, we also made a photobooth setup. My friend created a pvc pipe frame with a curtain backdrop. We took pictures with a polaroid so we can give them to the guests and also put them in my guestbook.
This bridal shower was seriously the cutest one I've ever been to. Thank you to my bridesmaids, especially my sister and maid of honor, Michelle, for throwing me such a pretty bridal shower full of pinterest-worthy details.

I still remember that day when my friends planned a surprise afternoon tea bridal shower for me at one of top venues Chicago last year. I wish that day can come again in my life once again. Really that was truly memorable.
